An Honest Hotel Review – Ibis Ambassador Seoul Myeong Dong
Located at the edge of the vibrant Myeong Dong shopping district, this hotel is perfect for travellers who are looking to shop and eat to your heart’s content.

LOCATION
This hotel is facing 2 big LOTTE mall buildings, and the distance from the nearest subway station (Euljiro-1-ga) is a mere 2-3 minutes walk as depicted below.

There are also plenty of shops, street food, cosmetics, masks – everything is right behind the hotel so you don’t need to worry about catching a quick toilet break in between shopping.

Besides that, there is a huge plus in having a direct airport bus (Bus 6015) from the hotel to Incheon. The bus runs every 15 minutes – so you don’t have to lug your huge luggage everywhere in the subway. A ticket costs 15,000 krw (around 13 USD) and this hotel is on the 8th stop. Do consider taking the airport bus instead of a taxi/train. It’s so convenient and easy!

ROOM
The rooms are reasonably sized, comfortable for 2 pax, but a bit squeezy for a 3 pax room. The room lights are a bit dim and dark though, which makes the room feel a bit older and worn out. Water is provided daily – I love when a hotel does this. The bathroom is small but bearable. They have plenty of TV cable channels to choose from.
SERVICE
Late checkout is easy, just go to Level 1 and drop your keys at 2pm.
Reception was also friendly and helpful, very accommodating with our requests and questions.
Check-in took a bit longer than usual, but it wasn’t long enough for us to complain. We’ve experienced worse.
If you arrive early (before check-in time), the hotel will offer to let you store your luggage in the luggage room.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast was not good, I repeat, NOT GOOD. I’d highly recommend skipping on the breakfast packages, and just try a cafe outside.
Overall, if the sole purpose of your next Korea trip is to shop and not worry about being far away from shopping, I think this hotel would be your best bet.
